The municipality of the Dutch town of Scheveningen has chosen customized solar cell columns for a square at the popular port of the town. The design of the columns has been inspired by a “wobbler,” which is used for fishing. The columns have been designed by a local architect based on Priess’s Touché product program. Besides being customized and produced specially for the small square, the columns are entirely self-sufficient because of the integrated solar cells. The battery (NiMH) is located inside of the columns.
